Hey,
Much as I love Jay and the Doctor in the mornings, and FBI (in Sydney) all day,
The two greatest radio stations on the planet can be listened to online.
Firstly KDAY – Hip Hop today and Back in the Day. In the 80′s it was LA’s first all hip-hop station and launched NWA and Dr Dre. It plays brilliant old school/new school hip hop from Rodondo Beach, California.
Secondly. Indie 103 in Los Angeles. Jonesy’s Jukebox particularly, you can hear it at 7am Sydney time. Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols plays records every day, and it’s genius radio. Today Keith O’sullivan (of Stand By Me and Flatliners fame) is on his show. Dicky Barret from the Mighty, Mighty Bosstones does breakfast and Henry Rollins plays assortments from his vast and odd collection of records every Wednesday 3-5pm Sydney time. Listen, learn and rejoice in what I think is the greatest radio station on Earth.
Have fun.

Old-school hip-hop plus new innovations
You’ll be hooked on KDAY’s good vibrations;
Or LA’s Indie 103,
With the Jukebox of Jonesy.
The worlds 2 greatest radio stations.
Will be sure to check them out.

Not really into Hip Hop. I’ll give the others a shot though.

I listen to zender….. he plays what ever i want.
I can’t listen to the main local stations i know their play lists to well and know why they are playing songs at a certain time… e.g sex and candy is in the under 3min list so it gets played all the time to take you up to an hour ect.
I reckon a good heading for this post would have been “California Streaming”. (Pun intended.)
Lis’ning to the sound
Of hip-hop on KDAY
When I’m tired of talk
From the Doctor and Jay
Airplay with good form,
As if I was in LA…
California streaming
Of the guys who brought as Dre.
Of the guys who brought us Dre.
Either it’s getting too late for posting or I’ve accidently changed my keyboard layout to Estonian.

cheers for now, m.
Oh my! I realise this is a little irrelevant considering that it’s now October, but just wanted to say a big Thank You for reminding me about Indie 103! That radio station was my absolute life line when I first moved to LA and is seriously probably would’ve went scurrying back home to Canada with my tail between my legs if I didn’t have Steve to look forward to each day. I swear he has the sexiest voice on radio and introduced me to so many wicked bands and artists that I didn’t feel so “Dorothy, we’re not in Kansas anymore” while living there.
I will now be rekindling a past obsession thanks to you and I can’t wait!!
