So there it is.
- I have seen the top of the mountain and now I’ll never see anything better. The greatest musical weekend of my life happened three days ago and I’m still buzzing. I saw Prince on Friday night with all of my friends, then went to the after party, then on Saturday night we were in the fifth row and Larry Graham walks out and starts playing bass. I nearly died. After the show we headed to the basement and go into the after party (ahead of about 800 people), and until five in the morning, I watched my musical hero play in the funkiest band of all time ever. Maceo Parker, Larry Graham and Prince played the house down. Funkiest shit ever. I could never see another live band again as long as I live. I’m not shitting you. The fattest thing of all time, I’m surprised the roof didn’t cave in. Oh dear god. Since I was eight I wanted to go to a Prince aftershow gig, and I did. Oh yes. Thanks to all the universe that made it happen!
- Yoga has made me taller. No shit. And, my instructor helped me do my first back arch the other morning. I feel so nimble. Oh yeah, it’s also good that my yoga instructor is a goddess. That kinda helps when she says in that beautiful earthy voice “lean forward, grab your ankles, push the elbows forward and touch the back of the head to the floor” and it feels like your hamstrings are shearing at the ends, her voice guides you through it.
what am I listening to on the new 40GB iPod (that’s the best)?
Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry: I’m on such a dub/reggae trip it’s not funny. It’s great chill music.
Tex Perkins and the Dark Horses: I’m such a sucker for punishment.
West Coast Funk Mob: A mates band from Vancouver, Canada. They’re shit hot.
Take care. And have fun! send me an email if you want. click here
